On Sunday, August 13, 2017 Howell & Christmas attorney Gary Christmas and his family attended the First Day Festival held in downtown Charleston to help distribute our helmets. The First Day Festival is a community-wide celebration of education that encourages parents to attend school with their children on the first day, urges businesses to support parents by giving them time off to get involved in their child’s education, and enhances public engagement in our schools. Through our partnership with the City of Charleston Police Department and their teen CERT volunteers, Lowcountry Helmets for Kids helped close to two-hundred of our local children start the school year with a brand new bike helmet while engaging in a positive way with their local police officers. Those that weren’t able to receive a helmet while supplies lasted were able to sign up for a rain check and come pick them up at our Mt. Pleasant office.
