Rodger Howell is a Vietnam Veteran who has been traveling the country in his horse drawn buggy.
The epic journey came after Howell received a conclusive diagnosis from his doctor earlier this year stating that he had been exposed to Agent Orange during the war. Howell quit his job, hitched up his two draft horses and took to the road along with his dog.
According to Howell, he has driven his team right around four thousand miles up to this point. His journey was delayed unexpectedly when his buggy was rear-ended by a semi-tractor trailer truck on Thursday. Amazingly, neither Howell nor his animals were seriously hurt. Howell’s animals are currently recovering in the care of a local man who also hosted a fundraiser to get Howell back on the road.
