According to the S.C. Highway Patrol, the accident involved a 1980 Oldsmobile that struck a utility pole. The vehicle was traveling on Clements Ferry Road when it left the road, impacting on the utility pole. The driver, who was the only person in the car was killed, despite the fact that he was using a seat belt. The investigation into the accident has passed to the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office.
