General Motor’s automakers may end up paying out close to $600 million to the victims or surviving family members of the victims of a defective part in their automobiles that cost at least 13 deaths. According to investigations, the auto making company may end up facing charges as it has acknowledged that it’s employees knew of the defect for the past decade prior to the 2014 auto recall. Over 2 and a half millions cars have been recalled for the issue – a malfunctioning ignition switch.
Several hundred million dollars has also been set aside by General Motors to cover the repair of the multi-millions of vehicles that have been recalled so far.
