The employees of one office building in Greer are fortunate that only the building got damaged in a recent crash. The driver of an SUV was injured after it crashed through the outer wall of a packaging plant. There were employees on the offices to either side of the crash, but thankfully not the one the driver ran into.
The crash happened just before 9:30 AM at Monroe Packaging. The driver suffered a back fracture and was concerned with letting his wife know what happened. The office had to be evacuated because of a gas leak, though whether it was from the building or from the SUV is uncertain.
We don’t know why the SUV leapt the curb and crashed into the building. Was it driver error, or perhaps mechanical error? If there was a mechanical problem with the vehicle that caused the crash, that could be grounds to sue the manufacturer. If it was the driver’s fault, then they will be stuck with the bill.
